Memoire du Cyclisme has unbelievable records, i'm not a member but you can access a good bit of it. they can tell you who started for what team in the 1952 Vuelta, and then you can see how each of those riders placed in every race they ever did. Thinking of becoming a member.

Would you believe me if I said that I didn't have to look up the results of the riders in orange? Well, I did have to check the fine details and I indeed used the Cycling News (via Google to get to the right page the fastest).

I didn't know about Memoire du Cyclisme (which appears to be a members-only site, but probably well worth the fee if one is seriously interested).

PS for those mad about orange http://ibanmayoblog.blogspot.com/ is indispensable.

If I may ask, what site do you use to look up results? Cycling News? For older ones I use Memoire du cyclisme, but I'm always looking for new sources.

At first I thought you had seen me, a Fred in complete orange, near the end of my 200 km solo ride!

Euskaltel-Euskadi is perhaps the team that is most out of place in the cobbles of the Ronde van Vlaanderen. Last year only three out the eight orange riders finished and the best of them, Gorka Izagirre came in 62nd, nine minutes behind the winner.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who could be conflicted at such a moment. Based on your occupation (judging by your picture) I think this is a serious subject for you, versus me seeing a pro struggle.

Sticky Bottle! Why didn't I think of it? Actually, I had a bad dream a few weeks ago in which I gave someone a sticky bottle and messed up the hand-off, making them crash. Terrible.

I believe in taking the risk to capture a/the moment, but I'm unsure what beyond that is fair/just/ethical/moral. Artistic intent vs unflinching human witness vs ? voyeurism & exploitation... I generally regret what I haven't snapped than what I have.
